About Burnaby Mountain Roofing

The Crew Behind 15 Years of Roofing Burnaby, Flat Sections Included

We've been roofing homes, townhomes, and strata buildings across Burnaby since 2011. Our crew runs 14 people: two estimators, one office and client relations manager, three installation crews of three to four roofers each, and one in-house safety and quality lead.

The reason we exist comes down to one thing: flat and low-slope roofing gets treated like a full project here, not the job squeezed in between shingle contracts.

Company History

How This Started

Danny grew up near the Kingsway corridor in Burnaby and worked summers on his uncle's construction crew before apprenticing as a roofer at 19. He spent the next 8 years with a larger Vancouver roofing contractor, watching flat-roof and strata jobs get rushed through as secondary work behind shingle contracts. That's a bad fit for a city where a large share of the housing stock is multi-family and low-slope.

In 2011, he started this company with one truck and a three-person crew, building the business on referrals from a couple of property management firms who wanted a contractor that wouldn't treat their flat sections as an afterthought. That's still the reason a two-ply torch-on system gets the same planning and material attention as a full shingle reroof here.

The Crew

Who's on Your Roof

Founder & President

Danny Wong

The person who walks your roof during the estimate is usually Danny or one of our other estimators. He handles larger estimates and strata contracts personally, holds a WorkSafeBC Fall Protection trainer certification, and runs the crew's annual safety recertification himself.

Lead Foreman

Marco Silva

Marco leads the cedar shake and steep-pitch crew. If your estimate is a shake reroof, he's the one walking your roof and calling whether the sheathing underneath is skip or solid before anything comes off.

Crew leads and estimators go through a criminal record check before hire. Every installer completes WorkSafeBC fall protection training within their first 30 days and requalifies every year.

Process & Warranty

How We Work

A digital pin-type moisture meter, a steel tear-off bar, a tied bundle of cedar roofing shakes, and a hard hat laid out on plywood decking at a job site.
Field tools used for tear-off, moisture checks, and shake work on every job.

Every quote is written and itemized, price-locked for 30 days, before a single shingle comes off. Nothing changes mid-job without a signed change order — no verbal upsells once a crew is on the roof.

A torch-on system for a townhome or strata roof runs the same two-ply modified bitumen build, tapered insulation, and controlled propane application whether it's a single unit or a full building, and the same crews that tear off a shingle roof handle it. Nobody gets handed flat work because they're free that week.

Full reroofs carry a 5-year workmanship warranty; repairs carry 2. If a covered leak reopens in the repaired or replaced area within 12 months, we fix it at no charge. Manufacturer material warranties get passed through in full, typically 25 to 50 years depending on the shingle or membrane line.

5 Yrs Full reroof warranty, workmanship
2 Yrs Repair warranty, workmanship
12 Mo Leak-back guarantee, no charge
25–50 Yrs Manufacturer material warranty, passed through in full
